Thank you for choosing Level Up Autos.

Proper aftercare is important to ensure your window film cures correctly and provides years of performance, privacy and protection.

Please read and follow the guidance below.

First 72 Hours

Do not lower or open any tinted windows for at least 72 hours following installation.

The adhesive requires time to bond fully to the glass and premature window operation may affect the film.

Where possible:

  • Keep windows closed.

  • Avoid unnecessary disturbance of the film.

  • Avoid touching the inside surface of the glass.

Film Curing Process

Window film requires time to fully cure.

Depending on weather conditions, curing can take between:

2 to 4 weeks

During this period, it is completely normal to notice:

  • Haze

  • Cloudiness

  • Small water pockets

  • Minor distortion

  • Small bubbles

These are part of the curing process and will normally disappear as moisture evaporates through the film.

Do not attempt to press, puncture or remove any bubbles yourself.

Cleaning Your Tinted Windows

Do not clean the inside of tinted windows for at least 14 days after installation.

Once the film has cured, we recommend:

Use

  • Ammonia-free glass cleaners

  • Soft microfibre cloths

  • Clean lint-free towels

Avoid

  • Ammonia-based cleaners

  • Abrasive pads

  • Razor blades

  • Scrapers

  • Harsh chemicals

Using unsuitable cleaning products may damage the film and affect its appearance.

Interior Condensation

Some condensation or moisture may appear during the curing period.

This is normal and should gradually disappear as the film settles.

No action is required unless the issue persists beyond the normal curing period.

Heat & Steam

For the first month following installation, avoid exposing the film to excessive heat or steam where possible.

Examples include:

  • Steam cleaners

  • Direct heat guns

  • Excessive interior heat treatment

Normal vehicle use is perfectly acceptable.

Inspecting Your Tint

We recommend inspecting your tint periodically during the curing process.

If you notice:

  • Large persistent bubbles

  • Peeling film

  • Lifting edges

  • Significant defects

Please contact us as soon as possible.

Do not attempt repairs yourself.

Legal Compliance

UK window tint regulations apply to certain areas of a vehicle.

Current regulations generally require:

  • Front windscreen: minimum 75% light transmission

  • Front driver and passenger windows: minimum 70% light transmission

Rear side windows and rear windscreens are subject to different rules.

Customers remain responsible for ensuring their vehicle complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

Level Up Autos cannot accept liability for:

  • Traffic offences

  • Vehicle prohibition notices

  • MOT failures

  • Insurance issues

where the customer has specifically requested non-compliant installations or modifications.

We will always provide guidance regarding legal requirements where applicable.
